MAH MCA CET – Maharashtra MCA Entrance

The MAH MCA CET is an online Computer-Based Test (CBT) designed to assess candidates on four key areas: Mathematics and Statistics, Logical/Abstract Reasoning, English Comprehension and Verbal Ability, and Computer Concepts. The examination carries a total of 200 marks and must be completed within 90 minutes.

Detailed Syllabus

A. Mathematics and Statistics
  • Algebra: Basic operations, quadratic equations, logarithms, sequences, binomial theorem, permutations and combinations.
  • Coordinate Geometry: Cartesian coordinates, equations of lines and circles, conic sections, geometric transformations.
  • Differential Equations: First-order and linear differential equations.
  • Trigonometry: Identities, equations, triangle properties, inverse trig functions.
  • Probability and Statistics: Probability fundamentals, frequency distribution, distributions (binomial, Poisson, normal), correlation and regression.
  • Arithmetic: Ratios, proportions, time-work, speed-distance, percentages.
  • Set Theory and Functions: Sets, relations, mappings.
  • Mensuration: Areas, volume and surface areas of geometric shapes.
B. Logical / Abstract Reasoning

Tests logical thinking and problem-solving skills based on logical situations and data interpretation.

C. English Comprehension and Verbal Ability
  • Grammar and usage
  • Vocabulary (synonyms and antonyms)
  • Reading comprehension
  • Sentence correction
  • Phrases and idioms
  • Jumbled paragraphs
D. Computer Concepts
  • Computer Basics: Organization, CPU, instruction structure, I/O devices, memory, backups.
  • Data Representation: Encoding, binary/hexadecimal, Boolean algebra, truth tables, Venn diagrams.
  • Computer Architecture: Block diagram, I/O communication, interrupts.
  • Programming Concepts: Assembly language basics, high-level languages, C programming.
  • Operating Systems: Fundamental concepts and functions.
